A site register is a maintained record, such as of personnel, plant, or inspections, used to track and evidence compliance on a construction site.

A site register is any structured, maintained record used to keep track of an aspect of site management. Common examples include a personnel or signing-in register recording who is on site, plant and equipment registers, inspection registers, and registers of certificates or permits. Together they provide an organised evidence base for how a site is run.

Several registers support legal duties: for instance, records of thorough examinations under LOLER, inspection records under PUWER, and records of who is on site for fire and emergency purposes. Keeping accurate registers makes it possible to demonstrate compliance and to act quickly when something, such as a certificate, is due to expire.

Digital registers with expiry alerts reduce the risk of records lapsing unnoticed, which is a frequent cause of compliance failures found during audits.
